Scrappersatsg Challenge # 15
"Mr Turtle"

Summer's here! And what a fun challenge we have. I'm glad the weather finally permitted me to take a bright photo of this LO. It was raining for the past few weeks and sometimes when the sun's out the sky's still a bit cloudy so it's not as bright out as I'd like.

I really wanted to enter this same LO to the Scrappinkids challenge (Favey March) but I wasn't able to take a photo in time for the March 28 deadline. =( Thankfully, the Scrappersatsg challenge just started so I was able to submit it. If it wasn't for work, I would've also started my entry for the Kaya challenge (Bling it on).

I hope work lets up soon so we can really enjoy summer. =)

About the simplest layout ever. I only used 2 papers (1 pink cardstock and 1 patterned paper), chipboard alpha and crystals. I experimented with the journalling and I hope to use the circular/spiral texts again soon.

Scrappersatsg March scrapmeet
"FOCUS"

The second (ever) layout featuring my husband. I should make more of them but he's picky with the designs (no flowers, butterflies, or anything "girly"; swirls, and even cyrstals are okay though). I made this during the first meet for Scrappersatsg. I met with the girls and had an absolute blast.

The chipboard alphas were a great find (for me, at least, since I don't really get up-to-date with new products). They come with a sander so you can opt for a distressed look.

"Miss Independent"

I intended to enter this LO to the Feb Scrappersatsg challenge (love song title) but I wasn't really sure if "Miss Independent" (by Kelly Clarkson) was a love song. I usually have a hard time thinking of a design but this wasn't the case here since I already had the colors and the title in mind. For the {Create} challenge, I only had to add the numbers and voila. I'm so into Luxe rub-ons and crystals right now that I can't stop using them (see the same 3 circle of crystals in "Focus"?). I also put the journalling in circular chipboard/paper cut-outs somewhere on the page. I guess it's just a phase.

Something Old... Something New...

At last! I finally got around to changing my banner. I can't believe it took me days to find a nice picture of a chipmunk and an acorn, then take 30 mins. to find a totally different background, photoshop it and update my blog.

And as always, I haven't posted any new LOs yet as I'm in the middle of making one for the {create} challenge. I hope it doesn't look too "crowded" since I'm experimenting with techniques I've been picking up from other people's work (read: "probably you!"). The very first LO I made for the Scrappersatsg challenge (paper-piecing) is hanging at my workstation and I haven't taken pics of it yet. I also made a very simple one, also hanging at my office desk, and which I rather wanted to show here as well.
