Play Play...

Another layout to share! It's part of the birthday album for Ninna's daughter Ella. I'm thinking of adding a few more short journal strips but I'm afraid it might look too cluttered. Hoping to get more inspiration from my blog-hopping adventures.

Speaking of birthdays, we went to a really rockin' birthday party the weekend before last. It was a Mickey Mouse themed one and organized by Beth, Marix, and Sookie's group (AWESOME job girls!).

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 134

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch 134
"Candle Blowing"

I've been AWOL for a while again but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy with my fave hobby. =) I also skipped one of the sketches, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna do it (it's just too cute to miss!). I'm just waiting for the right time to visit an LSS and splurge a bit (I'm itching to find the "perfect" papers/embellies to go with the stacks of photos I have yet to scrap).

Of gifts and candies

{Create} - 3 Photo Challenge
"my gifts"

Here's another layout for Ella, which I'm entering into {Create}'s March challenge. I'm very pleased to note that for birthday layouts (with photos of a lot of stuff) pastels and bright colors (especially red) complement each other quite well.

And while hopping to Marix's site today, I found this blog candy from Deb. Hope you can join in the fun!

TFL!

March Challenge

For my challenge on March 6 for Scrapbook Challenges, I chose to go with a "birthday"-inspired layout. Firstly, because I'm currently doing a series of pages for a friend (with a lot of photos still to go!) and Secondly, because two of my sisters were born on March 6 (4 years apart but on the same day).
This one was lifted from Amy Licht's layout "Birthday Cake".

Ella

Here's another scrap-lifted layout for Ella. Mommy Ninna was browsing thru my magazines and found a layout she liked - Kris Parkin's "Kyle" (from Designing Scrapbooks 2).

Instead of using a magnetic journal for the fold-up "birthday" sentiment, I folded up a thin piece of patterned paper and weighed it down with pieces of metallic embellishments hidden underneath the cupcake.

Post-Valentines Scrapmeet

First scrapmeet of the year - Feb. 15 at our place with two moms - Ninna and Veron. So much scrapstuff girls! =D I wish it didn't have to end so soon but all our kids were missing us.

To help first-time scrapper Ninna, I did this layout of adorable Ella:

And followed-up with a scrap-lifted one (from a layout of Carla Schauer titled "Super Star" for Marvy Uchida) for her first-born Mabel Ann:

To re-create the punched out shapes, we just used scalloped scissors. TFL!

Scrapbook Challenges - Sketch 132

I made this layout Sunday last week and was just too busy to post (even on SC group). I loved making the owl and hand-cut the oh-so-cute paper from We R Memory Keepers White-Out collection (Nonsense -Sing Song). I just wish I had more photos to keep true to the sketch.
